Titan

Titan was rescued with a group of 5 drafts in Nov 2008 from a kill broker lot in PA. He arrived and immediately exhibited signs of Strangles. He had a long bout with the disease but during that time we created a bond with him and decided that we needed a new farm Rep for outings to promote the rescue.

Titan has scarring on his shoulders from years of hard work with the Amish as well as hairless scars across his nose from not having his equipment regularly removed. The drafts tend to stand nights in tie stalls unharnessed and ready for work the following day. They work long hard days in the fields with little to no breaks in all weather. Sundays are their only days off.

Titan now has a life of leisure. He attends Pet Fairs, farm gatherings, County Fair and soon to be in attendance at Equine Affaire in Columbus in April 2011.

The operator of the Drafty Barn Rescue organization has tagged the phrase "Frog Pond" on her website, used a portion of our trademarked slogan for her organizational name, and has placed frog pictures all over her pages. Additionally, she seems to be overly concerned about the length, content and requirements of our adoption application and contracts. There is also a 2008 USDA/Ohio Dept of Agriculture citation against them for Non-burial of Livestock after they left a horse lying in a ditch for days unnoticed by anyone that resides at the farm -- only the children who ride the bus past the farm daily to school. There is now a report on file with the Guernsey County Sheriffs Department regarding this same individual in Summer 2010 for "Theft by Intimidation" and "Impersonating a Law Enforcement Officer" for illegal removal of horses currently under the monitoring of local Humane and Law Enforcement.
