Mid teenage Belgian mare, good weight, feet, good ground manners, a bit lazy, stalls great, broke to ride/drive, approx. 16.2 hands.

Approximate release date for adoption is Nov 7th.
Awaiting vet exam and evaluation under saddle.

UPDATE-10.21.09
Lizzard was backed bareback to determine her riding ability. She is great with steering and whoa. Stood quietly to be mounted from the 4 wheeler, rode out alone/not barn sour. Not concerned with legs against her side and was willing to do what was asked. Walk/trot only.

UPDATE-10.25.09
Lizzard was again backed, this time with a saddle as we were asked about her taking a saddle. She stood quietly for tacking, takes the bit with ease, no issues with girthing, mounting or dismounting. She rode right off as we were also evaling another horse. She was taken out away from the barn and asked for walk/trot and canter and completed all 3 gaits. Good steering, needs a bit more bit then the simple snaffle she was ridden in. Not harsh, just a bit more leverage. Ground tied for untacking. Would be good for hubby or confident beginner rider.�

Lizzard saw the farrier and was EXCELLENT. She stands quietly without stocks for trimming and was awesome. Feet in good shape and will make a farrier and owner proud.

This is a small part of her efforts at causing issues for our organization. One very good reason this "rescue" should be watched is shown in living color from Channel 3-Cleveland News Footage. There is also a 2008 USDA/Ohio Dept of Agriculture citation against them for Non-burial of Livestock after they left a horse lying in a ditch for days unnoticed by anyone that resides at the farm -- only the children who ride the bus past the farm daily to school. There is now a report on file with the Guernsey County Sheriffs Department regarding this same individual in Summer 2010 for "Theft by Intimidation" and "Impersonating a Law Enforcement Officer" for illegal removal of horses currently under the monitoring of local Humane and Law Enforcement.
