Kaleb on arrival at Frog Pond

Kaleb rehabbing at Frog Pond

Kaleb was known as #503 while standing in the Camelot Auctions feedlot waiting to ship to slaughter if not saved by noon on Saturday. He is a big boy, standing almost 18 hands. But he has the heart as big as he is! This is one special guy. He is covered in scars from years of working. We can only assume he was tossed away due to an issue he has choking on dry feed. Within a day of arrival, Kaleb had to see the vet to remove what we thought was a new choke. Turns out we removed oats as well…of which we dont feed. This means his choke blockage started well before coming to us. After an hour and 45 minutes of tubing, a 1/2 of a 2 liter bottle of Coke and a well behaved horse later…he was swallowing easy again.

Kaleb rides like a dream. He moved out nicely for my oldest daughter who is a good rider. He was also a babysitter for my 13 year old who is timid. And he knew the difference. You can see his riding videos by going to www.youtube.com/frogpondfarmdrafts and checking him and our others out.

Kaleb has found his new home!
