Draft Angel Program

Becoming a draft angel…

Becoming a “draft angel” means you assist us in the sponsorship of one of the draft horses here, either waiting on a home or one that will be required to stay with us under lifetime care. There are several ways this can be done. If you sponsor a draft for the entire month, you will receive pictures and updates while that horse is under your sponsorship.

Full month/Full sponsorship: $150/month
Half month sponsorship: $75/month
Medical sponsorship: As needed
Routine care sponsorship: Averages $75 every 3 months (covers worming/seasonal vaccinations/trimming/dental as needed)
Supplements: Purchase as needed

We have several old horses that use a lot of supplements to keep them healthy. If you choose to do this, contact us about which horses need sponsorship and we will let you know who is needy and what they require.

Draft size halters, weanling and yearling size halters (nylon, leather, break away), lead ropes, chain leads, neck ropes

Cleaning equipment
2-wheeled wheelbarrows, manure basket forks, rakes, sawdust shovels, bleach, scrubbing brushes, brooms

Stall equipment
Water buckets (plastic/rubber), double snaps, tie rings, hay racks, feeders, stall mats, wood stain for treating walls.

Riding/evaluation equipment
Draft size bridles(new or used), 6 1/2 to 7 1/2 inch bits of all types, draft tree saddle, bareback pads, surcingle and drive lines, lunge lines.

We can also always use brushes and tack cleaners. Also appreciated are new or used winter blankets and turn out sheets size 84 and up.

Equipment repairs and welding services
Dozer time (clearing fencelines, creating drainage)
Loader time (creating pond for water supply)

Office needs
white printer paper, printer ink (Epson 69- Black and color), file folders(hanging type), colored paper, file cabinets, USB drives, manilla envelopes, standard envelopes, stamps

DISCLAIMER: We are in NO WAY, nor have we or will we EVER be affiliated with Drafty Barn Rescue located in Lore City, OH. The operator of the Drafty Barn Rescue organization has tagged the phrase "Frog Pond" on her website, used a portion of our trademarked slogan for her organizational name, and has placed frog pictures all over her pages. Additionally, she seems to be overly concerned about the length, content and requirements of our adoption application and contracts. This is a small part of her efforts at causing issues for our organization. One very good reason this "rescue" should be watched is shown in living color from Channel 3-Cleveland News Footage. The photo of the operator of the Drafty Barn rescue is shown on the still shot in the video. You will hear her own words and feelings on horse slaughter by watching the link.

There is also a 2008 USDA/Ohio Dept of Agriculture citation against them for Non-burial of Livestock after they left a horse lying in a ditch for days unnoticed by anyone that resides at the farm -- only the children who ride the bus past the farm daily to school.
