Mac was our biggest and most rewarding challenge of the horses that were rescued from Sugarcreek on May 9th, 2008. He had severe trust issues. He was the last horse that we were able to touch out of all of them and that was after a week of him being on the farm. He spent a week at Clinton Anderson’s farm, but he came back with an even more negative outlook on things. Bethany took him on as her project for the summer. With baby steps, he was running towards you to come in for feeding time instead of away! He finally found a perfect family in Mark & Diane Gillespie. He now enjoys the company of Hal & Levi and the love from Mark & Diane.

This handsome guy is Ginny! He had the absolute BEST personality when he arrived in May. He loved anyone that would give him a glance. He stood happily the second week he was here for a group of Cloverbud 4H kids to scratch on him and feed him treats. He was adopted to Shelly Fausnight of Newcomerstown, OH. He was neglected severely while in her care and was brought back to FPF. Ginny didn’t have that same tinkle in his eye that he had always had before. You could tell his spirit had been broken. With a lot of love and groceries, he was on his way to a full recovery when Laura Linnell of southern Ohio fell in love with that teddy bear face. He is now finishing up rehabbing at their farm with his new friend Pepper, an Arabian. They are doing a fantastic job as you can see in the last picture. I think he is even starting to get that gleam back in his eyes! We are so happy that he is able to thrive in his new and ever so loving home with the Linnell’s!

This is Ellie. She is just beautiful with her dappled belly and very thin blaze. She is a true sweetheart and very eager to please. She didn’t have much interest in her when it came to adoptive homes, but she caught the eye of Linda. She now enjoys the life of the occasional trail ride and just enjoying the company of someone that loves her.

This is Raggedy Anne, now known as Roxy! She found an immediate home in Kim of Michigan. Kim came to visit the May horses the day after they arrived and fell in love with her. Unfortunately, due to financial difficulties, she was unable to keep her. Annie then found a home with Maria in Maine. She has thrived in her care! We are still awaiting updated pictures from her new home with Maria, but will post them as soon as they arrive. Thanks Maria for giving her another chance.

This is Andy. He has had the pleasure of several loving homes. He went off for mounted police training immediately following his QT period. Unfortunately, an old stifle injury didn’t allow that to happen for him. He was returned to FPF for a short time, and then went into foster care. He enjoyed the luxury of being the boss man and getting fat. Then he found a loving home in the Rek family of Connecticut. He currently enjoys love from two boys and a hubby!

DISCLAIMER: We are in NO WAY, nor have we or will we EVER be affiliated with Drafty Barn Rescue located in Lore City, OH. The operator of the Drafty Barn Rescue organization has tagged the phrase "Frog Pond" on her website, used a portion of our trademarked slogan for her organizational name, and has placed frog pictures all over her pages. Additionally, she seems to be overly concerned about the length, content and requirements of our adoption application and contracts. This is a small part of her efforts at causing issues for our organization. One very good reason this "rescue" should be watched is shown in living color from Channel 3-Cleveland News Footage. The photo of the operator of the Drafty Barn rescue is shown on the still shot in the video. You will hear her own words and feelings on horse slaughter by watching the link.
There is also a 2008 USDA/Ohio Dept of Agriculture citation against them for Non-burial of Livestock after they left a horse lying in a ditch for days unnoticed by anyone that resides at the farm -- only the children who ride the bus past the farm daily to school. We received numerous phone calls from parents requesting assistance. Should you wish to see this document, please feel free to email us and it will be forwarded.
